BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF AHMED ADAMU, THE PRESIDENT/CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMONWEALTH YOUTH COUNCIL


Ahmed Adamu from Nigeria, born on Sunday, 3rd March, 1985, attended Bayero University Kano, where he studied B.Sc(ED) Economics and finished in 2006. After his National Youth Service in Lokoja, he was recruited as a classroom teacher and posted to Government Senior Secondary School, Kambarawa. While teaching there, he got PTDF Scholarship to study MSc Oil and Gas Economics at University of Dundee, United Kingdom. Upon his return, he got a lecturing job at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina. Presently, he is doing his PhD degree at Newcastle University, UK, specializing in Oil and Gas Economics. He affiliates with many professional organizations and published scholarly articles and books. He held many leadership positions, and recently elected the Chairperson of the Commonwealth Youth Council. Below is the list of some of the positions he held.
