FORMER COMMISSIONER OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN AKWA IBOM STATE, MR. SAMUEL EFANGA DECLARED INTEREST FOR FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
After several calls on me by concerned citizens, groups and stake holders of Uyo Federal Constituency to provide effective and credible representation of the Constituency at the National Assembly come 2015; and after due consideration of the obligations of such mandate and the need to improve the fortunes of our people, I have decided to express my interest in taking up that responsibility.
The task of developing our society, improving the welfare of our people and promoting our peaceful coexistence is the challenge of credible Leadership. To this end we must not shy away from taking responsibility for change. I have been around in our Country Nigeria and have been confronted with the problems. I know what we face as a people especially in our Federal Constituency. I have participated in the politics and development of Akwa Ibom State and have been well trained in Public Service having been in the State Executive Council. Therefore I am sure I will make my people happy and proud that they made good choice.
I understand perfectly that this mandate is of the people for the people. I will always represent the interest of the people. Our men and women, youths and elders from all shades of political opinion, religion and culture are the owners of this mandate. In this respect, I shall be devoted to sponsoring such bills that will improve the welfare of our people, initiate sustainable empowerment and life enhancement programmes that will positively impact on our people.
Through the constituency projects and in collaboration with Federal and State Government and non Governmental Agencies, I will attract development to our communities. We shall support our students in Tertiary institutions and assist our Tradesmen in their various economic endeavours. I shall endeavour to maintain fairness in all my dealings and promote the peaceful coexistence of our people. I know that power comes from God; therefore I shall allow the fear of God to guide my conduct.
So help me God.
