ANIEKAN UKO DEDICATES SECOND SON AMEKIIDABASI

MY RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM

One man that I have follow passionately politically in the build up to 2015 general election is the immediate past State Organizing Secretary and PDP flag bearer for Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency, Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Uko. Though we havent met before except today at his residence during the child dedication of his second son, Amekiidabasi Aniekan Uko, I must submit that the likes of Hon. Uko are very rare in the present political landscape of my state. Though I still have few who are serving in the present dispensation that are easily accessible but Aniekan Uko is exceptional.

Our friendship began when I made an enquiry from him online and he didn't hesitate to give an urgent response despite the fact that we never knew each other or meet face to face. I get more interested in him when he came up with his campaign slogan ''IBOROAKAM'' meaning prayer answered. I got attracted to it and thenceforth have followed his facebook updates which is always interesting. I was convinced that Hon. Aniekan Uko will win the Party ticket considering who was fronting him and giving him the ladder to political offices. I told one of my friend that he will win and last three weeks have confirmed it when he overwhelmingly won the party ticket to represent the good people of Ibesikpo Asutan at Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly come 2015.

I recalled one day while in Uyo, I call him and when I introduced myself, he commended my activities on social media especially when I blogged his campaign on PDP Today Blog and he encouraged me to do more. That to me was a pat at the back and a justification that not everyone condemn what you do. Though I have received almost on daily basis commendation from people who I do not know them from Adam but Aniekan Uko words of encouragement lightened up my spirit. I have since key into his campaign though not playing any role yet but when the Party flag-off the campaign, I will make some little contribution as my quota to his political ambition of becoming a House member by 2015. One do not need a sooth sayer to know that with the full support of Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt. Hon. Uwem Ita Etuk (isong odoro ukana) who is his political father and a major player in the game, that Hon. Aniekan will win convincingly at the general election.

Today, I am more convince of the man I followed and I must confess that Hon. Aniekan Uko is dynamic, energetic, ebulient and a real party man and will deliver the party in Ibesikpo Asutan at the coming general election.

CHILD DEDICATION

When
IBOROAKAM, the campaign team of Hon. Aniekan Uko sent me an invitation for the child dedication of Amekiidabasi, I didnt hesitate but to honour a man I followed passionately. Immediately I stepped into the church auditorium, I was carried away by the sermon from the general overseer of City of Peace and Transfiguration, Pastor E. E. Moses. The man of God was speaking on Laying a Good Foundation for your Children and generation yet unborn. What a powerful message. Though I was a bit dizzy, an aftermath of Akwa Ibom State Government Carol Night but I jotted down some notes for reference purposes.

The church auditorium was electrified immediately Hon. Aniekan Uko and wife, Emem climbed the pulpit to thank God for His faithfulness. My attention was drawn to the pulpit when I discovered that someone was on her knee and the auditorium was vibrating with prayer of thanksgiving. Guess who. Behold, it was the beautiful wife of Hon. Uko, Emem.
I saw physically the elegance of a lady that I used to see her pictures only on facebook. I saw strength in her, I saw fellowship, I saw submissiveness and I saw a woman who will always stood by her husband and represent him at any dimension. I jealously watched her as she took over the pulpit thanking God for His faithfulness and journey mercies during her pregnancy till delivery. Though, she admitted that she saw death but was afraid to die. She took the church to memory lane on the promises of God toward her family, the safe delivery, her husband nomination as PDP flag bearer and her life. She submitted that God really show them mercy and her family will continue to give Him thanks.

It was Hon. Aniekan Uko turn but he commenced with a song of thanksgiving
''ikpimeme ino, Abasi mmikpidaha ye nnyin, ikpimeme ino'' (It wouldn't have been easy if God was not with us) and I saw why he is so highly favoured by God.

Hon. Aniekan narrated how he married his wife and since then, it has been blessing all through. First, he was given opportunity to serve as a Councillor representing his Ward. He was given another opportunity to serve as State Organizing Secretary of PDP through the assistance of his political father Rt. Hon. Uwem Ita Etuk. While in church, he was still holding a small flag of PDP signifying his love and loyalty to the Party.

He told the church that it was because of the flag he is holding at hand that people have written many fictitious write-ups against him. He submitted that he refused to keep the flag in the house so that his opposition will not break into the house and steal it. He promised to represent the interest of Ibesikpo Asutan in the House of Assembly and thank his political mentor, Rt. Hon. Uwem Ita Etuk and the serving House Member in his State Constituency, Hon. Eyakeno Etukudo for supporting his aspiration.

AKWA IBOM CHILD RIGHTS LAW

The Akwa Ibom State Child Rights Law The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Godswill Akpabio, on 5th December, 2008 signed the child rights act into law to protect the growth of perceptual, emotional, intellectual, and behavioural capabilities and functioning during childhood of Akwa Ibom children under 16 years.
