2015 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: NO VICTOR NO VANQUISHED.

By Salami Taiwo Ramon

Congratulations to all Nigerians has we finally repositioned ourselves to our rightful status in the political landscape of Nigeria. We have created a new and definitely the right status for our political landscape. We have now become the political determinant we are meant to be. Our destiny as a nation now resides solely in our thumb. We now have a say in who govern us. We finally established for ourselves the path of political greatness. This is nothing but a victory for Nigerians and Nigeria's democracy without regard to any political party of politician.
Nigeria President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari

Now, the tension has subsided, the anxiety has vanished into thin air while a new path has been created with history made at the end of the day. The announcement of Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari as winner of the 2015 presidential election and Goodluck Jonathan as his first runner-up was a victory for Nigerians and not for a political party or interest. The resolution of Nigerians to take active participation in the election has made the whole process filled mixed feelings and reaction. The pendulum swing so well that no one ever predicted correctly or knew where it will finally rest. Now the die is cast, I congratulate the winner and the first runner-up to the last runner-up. Remember, this is a contest of no victor no vanquished. It is solely a celebration of democracy in Nigeria and victory for all Nigerians.

As Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari will be inaugurated come 29th of May, 2015, it is imperative for the president elect to know that much is really expected from him at this trying time of our nation. It is important as well for him to know that this is not a time to celebrate or merry but a time for him to sit tight and get to work. It is also of cogent for him to respect the fact that Nigerians didn't vote for him because of his age or other criteria but just because Nigerians needs a working Nigeria. It is equally expected of him to deliver on his manifesto within his four years mandate if truly himself and his party realize that they shall come back to the electorates come 2019. If his forth time as most consistent presidential candidates over the years gave him the mandate, then he's expected to make judicious use of the opportunity and allow posterity to judge him positively so that his name can be engraved with gold in Nigeria history. Sincerely, he must position himself as that game-changer Nigerians and Nigeria will forever remember.

Paramount of expectations from Nigerians are the issues of security, employment, corruption, power, infrastructure, education, health, among others. Nigerians really want to see and feel the impact of change they voted for in no distance time. APC as a party at the federal level now have the opportunity to establish itself better across the nation and in the minds of Nigerians. The earlier the president-elect get to work to deliver his electoral promises the better for the party. GMB and his party should remember that posterity will judge their administration with respect to change in the next four years.

I congratulate the president-elect, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari, this party APC and most especially every Nigerian for our collective democratic victory. We are together on the path of greatness and nothing can stop us and our resolution.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

EFREN PENAFLORIDA - SOCIAL WORKER AND TEACHER

Efren’s Penaflorida – Social Worker and Teacher Efren PeƱaflorida, Jr. sports no cape. He has no superpowers. You would neither throw him a second glance nor even notice him in a big crowd. There is really nothing special about Efren except his unparalleled dedication to reforming kids in their poverty-stricken community in Cavite, Philippines.Efren PeƱaflorida, Jr.’s sanity was questioned when people first saw him going around the neighborhood pushing his improvised cart loaded with food, books, paper, pencils, and other things you would commonly see in a classroom. Why, Efren goes around the neighborhood pushing a mobile classroom to peddle the love for education. He left his well-paying job as a private school teacher to devote all of his time and effort to his Kariton Klasrum project while his neighbors mock him.To make matters worse, his parents and brother did not see the point in his earnestness to get out-of-school youths interested in going back to school. For a family s...
