PDP CELEBRATES VICTORY AHEAD OF APRILL 11 POLL

The street of Uyo Township was filled with supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party as they embarked on a victory march ahead of April 11 governorship poll in favour of PDP governorship candidate, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel and all PDP House of Assembly candidates.

Akwa Ibom State has always been a PDP State until last Saturday presidential election which the APC Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari emerged as winner. It is insinuated that some PDP members has defected to the camp of APC candidate, Obong Umana Okon Umana but the victory march in Uyo has proved otherwise. The PDP supporters are telling the world that they are still in charge of the state and cannot relinquish power to the opposition even though they will take charge of governance at the center after 16 years of power in the grip of PDP led administration. Lets see how the result of Aprill 11
poll will be as both camp are oiling their winning strategies pending INEC final announcement.

The Akwa Ibom State Child Rights Law The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Godswill Akpabio, on 5th December, 2008 signed the child rights act into law to protect the growth of perceptual, emotional, intellectual, and behavioural capabilities and functioning during childhood of Akwa Ibom children under 16 years.
