BLACKMAIL ON BUKOLA SARAKI: A JOKE TAKEN TOO FAR

By Ubong David

I have observed with total dismay a media offensive launch against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki by a paid agent Omoyele Sowore and his sensational online media platform, Sahara Reporters. The campaign to blackmail Bukola Saraki is the last weapon left in the hands of those who want his head to be cut off for refusing to dance to their tune. It is unfortunate that APC as a party has engaged the services of Sahara Reporters to execute this cheap blackmail.

Senate President Bukola Saraki with US Ambassador to Nigeria

How do Sahara Reporters just woke up few days ago to realized that Bukola Saraki has dual citizen of United Kingdom and Nigeria? The latest is that he is a thief. Where was Sahara Reporters and its sponsors when Bukola Saraki was serving his state as executive governor for 8 good years? Where was Sahara Reporters and its sponsors when Bukola Saraki was elected as a Senator in 2011 and re-elected in 2015? Oh, they just realized two days ago that he is not a Nigerian and has been involved in stealing money from a defunct bank that was owned by his father just because he refused to bow to some external forces and power mongers in the choice of Principal Officers of the Senate. Let the whole world knows that Bukola Saraki two crimes are:

1. He contested the Senate President seat against the decision of his party to give it to Sen. Ahmed Lawan.

2. That Bukola Saraki refused to concede to the decision of his new party to nominate their candidates for the remaining principal offices in the Senate. Nothing more nothing less.

Nigerians are no fools. You can only fool a man once. It is only unfortunate that the sponsor of this cheap blackmail are using a sensational outfit like Sahara Reporters that claimed to focus on promoting citizen journalism to achieve their aim. I want to submit that the blackmail is an effort in futility and is dead on arrival. When Bukola Saraki team up to lead some PDP governors and lawmakers to APC, he was a hero. Today, he is a fraudster and an alien for refusing certain interference with the affairs of the Senate.

The sponsors of this cheap blackmail should bury their faces in shame and accept reality that Bukola Saraki is the Senate President and the status quo should remain. Nigerians should not be deceived the second time because the first fool no be fool but the second fool, na him be foolish foolish. A word is enough for a wise.

EFREN PENAFLORIDA - SOCIAL WORKER AND TEACHER

Efren’s Penaflorida – Social Worker and Teacher Efren PeƱaflorida, Jr. sports no cape. He has no superpowers. You would neither throw him a second glance nor even notice him in a big crowd. There is really nothing special about Efren except his unparalleled dedication to reforming kids in their poverty-stricken community in Cavite, Philippines.Efren PeƱaflorida, Jr.’s sanity was questioned when people first saw him going around the neighborhood pushing his improvised cart loaded with food, books, paper, pencils, and other things you would commonly see in a classroom. Why, Efren goes around the neighborhood pushing a mobile classroom to peddle the love for education. He left his well-paying job as a private school teacher to devote all of his time and effort to his Kariton Klasrum project while his neighbors mock him.To make matters worse, his parents and brother did not see the point in his earnestness to get out-of-school youths interested in going back to school. For a family s...
