UDOM EMMANUEL IS HITTING ON THE TARGET

By Ubong David

The law of timing says that leaders do the right things at the right time. It has been said that managers do things right while leaders do the right things. Udom Emmanuel is on the right track hitting on the target. In few days in office, he has inaugurated a Technical Team on Ibaka Deep Sea Project, pay a fact-finding visit to Peacock Paint so as to revive it and constitute a Tourism Committee all with a timeline. I listened to him when he said that one of the first ministry that need a Commissioner is Ministry of Justice to give legal framework to some of his decisions. That is nothing but the truth and it shows that he knew the direction and the policy trust of the mandate of his office. His key promises during campaign was to industrialize Akwa Ibom State to create jobs for our teeming youth with emphasis on Ibaka Deepsea Project with over 100,000 employment opportunities and he is running with it. Inviting people like Charles Udonwa, a Singapore based marine expert into the team shows he knows his direction and he's on the right track. He should also pay serious attention on agriculture as there are many opportunities in agric sub-sector that can double the 100,000 job opportunities.

Another observation about this governor is that he is very time conscious. When he fixed event by 2pm, try and be there by 2pm as he will be there at exact time. This is a new order and we must flow with the tempo. For a deputy governor to arrived by 5.30 pm at event that was billed for 6 pm shows that they mean business. Thats commendable because leadership and time has been a major issue in our political climes. Lets give them the support to succeed for the overall interest of Akwa Ibom people. Udom is Right and he is the right brand of leadership that Akwa Ibom people are yearning for.
Lets give him the needed support to move our state forward.

AKWA IBOM CHILD RIGHTS LAW

The Akwa Ibom State Child Rights Law The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Godswill Akpabio, on 5th December, 2008 signed the child rights act into law to protect the growth of perceptual, emotional, intellectual, and behavioural capabilities and functioning during childhood of Akwa Ibom children under 16 years. EFREN PENAFLORIDA - SOCIAL WORKER AND TEACHER

Efren’s Penaflorida – Social Worker and Teacher Efren PeƱaflorida, Jr. sports no cape. He has no superpowers. You would neither throw him a second glance nor even notice him in a big crowd. There is really nothing special about Efren except his unparalleled dedication to reforming kids in their poverty-stricken community in Cavite, Philippines.Efren PeƱaflorida, Jr.’s sanity was questioned when people first saw him going around the neighborhood pushing his improvised cart loaded with food, books, paper, pencils, and other things you would commonly see in a classroom. Why, Efren goes around the neighborhood pushing a mobile classroom to peddle the love for education. He left his well-paying job as a private school teacher to devote all of his time and effort to his Kariton Klasrum project while his neighbors mock him.To make matters worse, his parents and brother did not see the point in his earnestness to get out-of-school youths interested in going back to school. For a family s...
