LETS CONTINUE TO ENGAGE OUR LEADERS ON ISSUES OF GOVERNANCE

Very unfortunate that majority of our leaders has closed the door behind their supporters immediately after election. This was much expected but with the social media, we can engage them on issues that bordering on our communities. We can also engage their appointed representatives through their Constituency Office in the case of legislature and appointed Special Advisers, Personal Assistant in the case of executive position. I must commend some state governors who has created social media platform to engage the people especially the youth and my appeal is that they should get feedback on important issues. This will encourage effective leadership as the people will get a feedback from their elective and appointed representatives. I hereby request for all governors, National Assembly members, Ministers, State House members, Commissioners and Special Advisers to have SOCIAL MEDIA account like facebook, twitter, Google +, Youtube, etc to engage their constituents, This will give room for participatory citizen-led inclusive economic development.

The Akwa Ibom State Child Rights Law The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Godswill Akpabio, on 5th December, 2008 signed the child rights act into law to protect the growth of perceptual, emotional, intellectual, and behavioural capabilities and functioning during childhood of Akwa Ibom children under 16 years.
