The Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District otherwise known in political circles as OBA (Obong Bassey Akpan) is a man well loved by his people and his friends cut across the entire political landscape of Akwa Ibom State. This young man at a very tender age has served Akwa Ibom State as the longest serving Finance Commissioner during the immediate past administration of Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio and today, both men are serving the people of Akwa Ibom State at the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

s Senator for Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, Obong Bassey Albert after arriving from Abuja Sunday evening decided to slug it out in his private gym at his Shelter Afrique residence in Uyo to keep his body fit for legislative engagement in preparation for the Senate resumption date after the long recess to make provision for their accommodation and other incentives that are their entitlement for the full commencement of legislative activities. Please don't mistaken him to be another Mayweather. He is Senator Bassey Albert Akpan doing what he knows how to do best. The Akwa Ibom State Child Rights Law The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Godswill Akpabio, on 5th December, 2008 signed the child rights act into law to protect the growth of perceptual, emotional, intellectual, and behavioural capabilities and functioning during childhood of Akwa Ibom children under 16 years.
