* URGE YOUTH TO EMBRACE PEACE
Yesterday August 01 was a moment of excitement as youth in Esit Eket local government area came out in their hundreds to performed a sanitation exercise around the Council Secretariat and it's environs. The sanitation which was conducted at the instance of the Transition Committee Chairman, Mr Iniobong Robson Nnamso featured youth from the ten wards of the local government area. The Transition Committee Chairman who was accompanied by some Council officials later assembled the youth at the residence of member representing Esit Eket and Ibeno in the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Usoroh Akpan Uso to thank them for responding to the clarion call.
Before making his remarks, the member representing Esit Eket and Ibeno in the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Usoroh Akpan Uso requested the immediate past SA to former governor on project monitoring, Pastor Isaiah Abia to lead the gathering with an opening prayer. Pastor Isaiah Abia pray for the new administration in Esit Eket and for God to produced two young people who will lead the Council to an enviable height. He also pray for the peace of the local government area.
Rt. Hon. Usoroh in his brief remarks thank the Transition Committee Chairman, Mr Iniobong for deeming it necessary to embark on the exercise and urge the youth of Esit Eket to give him the support to succeed. He reiterated the need for them to work together for the progress of the people of Esit Eket.
In his speech, the Transition Committee Chairman, Mr Iniobong Robson Nnamso show much encomium on Esit Eket youth for their prompt response within less than 24 hours. The Chairman emphasized the need for Esit Eket people to imbibe the culture of cleanliness as a way of life. He pointed out that cleanliness is next to Godliness and as such people shouldn't be forced to keep a clean environment. He stated that the key priorities of his administration are environmental sanitation and security as was directed by the executive governor, Deacon UDOM EMMANUEL. He urged the youth to be security conscious and report every suspicious movement to the security operatives as the Council under his administration would soon unveiled a security plan so as to make the local government area a safe place for all. Mr Iniobong expressed his commitment with the House member and other stakeholders of Esit Eket to deliver on his mandate. He advised the youth to be orderly and coordinated in their conduct as the Council under his administration cannot fail them.
When confided with some of the youth at the gathering, they spoke glowingly in support of the Transition Committee Chairman as a young man with a large heart to accommodate all irrespective of class and background. The youth who participated in the sanitation exercise were encouraged back home through the goodwill of the Transition Committee Chairman and the State House of Assembly member. Those in attendance were Council Secretary, Hon. Uyoata Friday Assam, Assistant State Organizing Secretary of PDP, Mr. Edet Inyang Bassey, former SA to former governor on project monitoring, Obongiwaad Pastor Isaiah Abia, former leader of Esit Eket Legislative Council, Hon Emem Peters. Others are the Chief of Staff to the Transition Committee Chairman and Deputy Chapter Chairman of PDP, Hon. Etangkanga, former Chief Whip and Chairman Labour and Industrial Committee in Esit Eket, Hon. Enobong Harry, NULGE Chairman, Comrade Aniekan Ntia, Esit Eket Youth Association and other youth leaders, and party leaders.
