For the past two weeks I have taken my time to study the antecedents of young Nigerians who are making Nigeria proud as a nation with great potential. These youth have stand out among the crowd though we have thousands of them in and out of Nigeria but within 20 years interval, we will be able to identify at least 1000 Nigerian Youth Role Models.
When you mention Youth Role Models of course you can't escape these names. We have Kingsley Bangwell, Sam Itodo, Nkiruka Nnaemego Hassan Hassan Rilwan Ahmed Adamu Linus Okorie, Timi Dakolo, Onofiok Luke, Chinedu Ogar, Audu Maikori, Dayo Israel, Zainabu Jallo, Tony Akan, Gbenga Sesan, Jennifer Ehidiamen, Cynthia Mosunmola Umoru, Mikang Longjan, Tara Durotoye, Esther Esther Kelechi Agbarakwe, Mina Ogbanga, Toyosi Akerele, Sandra Duru-Eluobi, Sandra Aguebor, Ola Orekunrin, Innocent Idibia, Tolu Ogunlesi, Cobham Asuquo, Nnaemeka Ikegweno, Moses Siasia, Ohimai Amaize, Anne Imafidon, Aliyu Gebi, Uche Nnaji, Sabiu Aliyu Ibrahim, Abdulmumin Jibrin, Nuhu Kwajafa, Isaac David Balami, Yemi Adesokan, Samaila Sulaiman, Kehinde Fawumi, Alexander Amosu, Wana Udobang, etc.
These youth has and thousands of others has proven their mettle and shown the world that the story of Nigerian youth is not only about fraud, kidnapping, 419, etc. Some of these youth have sat on the same platform with world leaders and have met the high and mighty in the society. They don't fight each other rather they are making positive impact on the people they met and contribute to nation building. What are we fighting ourselves on social media for? I refuse to join the bandwagon but to think about contributing my quota to make the society better than how I met it. You too can take that bold decision today. Political offices is meant for people who aspire for those offices and there is no justification for us to be fighting each other for them. Those who think about making Nigeria the country of their dreams are acting on their dreams while the bandwagons are attacking each other on social media. Well, the choice is yours. For me, I must contribute to the Nigeria of my dream.
