ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT: EX-COUNCIL BOSS DECLARED WANTED BY POLICE

Assassination attempt: Police declare Benue ex-council Boss wanted

The Nigerian Police has on Saturday launched a hunt on the immediate past Chairman of Ogbadibo Local Govt Council in Benue, Mr. Oduma Paul Adoyi.
Mr. Paul was accused of threatening an Abuja based Journalist and Publisher of DayBreak Newspaper, Yemi Itodo after beating him up at the Benue Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro Abuja on Friday, under the nose of Gov. Samuel Ortom.
According to a report, it took the spirited efforts of Journalists and some Aides of the Governor before Mr. Itodo was rescued from the ex-council boss and his thugs.
As soon as the Journalist was discharged from the hospital, he lodged the complaint with the Police who made frantic efforts to invite Mr. Paul Adoyi but he turned down Police invitation, using the Governor as a coverage.
When contacted on phone, Mr. Adoyi said he was attending a function with Gov. Samuel Ortom and as such could not have honoured Police invitation.
On his part, Yemi Itodo has this to say “The Police have gone on enquiries and searched where he could be, but to no avail. They have called him severally whereas he promised to show up; only to come up with the excuse of being with the Governor.
” I wonder what the Governor would be doing with him or why he would offer him protection against the law when it’s obvious he (the Governor) knew the gravity of the offence his council chairman committed.
“I’m not surprised anyway because the Governor saw what happened yesterday, yet, there has not been any official statement from his office to condemn the dangerous act. What if I was killed in his house, under his watch; would he have shielded the Culprit”?
Meanwhile, the security operatives in Abuja have also received reports on various threat and strange phone calls received by Yemi Itodo in the past 24 hours.
One of the callers who simply gave his name as “Officer from Bayelsa” has made several phone calls to Mr. Itodo with the following phone number – 07050740153.
However, when security checks was carried on the contact, it was discovered that the original name of the user as registered with service provider is SUNDAY ALI with all other useful data at the disposal of Nigeria security.

EFREN PENAFLORIDA - SOCIAL WORKER AND TEACHER

Efren’s Penaflorida – Social Worker and Teacher Efren PeƱaflorida, Jr. sports no cape. He has no superpowers. You would neither throw him a second glance nor even notice him in a big crowd. There is really nothing special about Efren except his unparalleled dedication to reforming kids in their poverty-stricken community in Cavite, Philippines.Efren PeƱaflorida, Jr.’s sanity was questioned when people first saw him going around the neighborhood pushing his improvised cart loaded with food, books, paper, pencils, and other things you would commonly see in a classroom. Why, Efren goes around the neighborhood pushing a mobile classroom to peddle the love for education. He left his well-paying job as a private school teacher to devote all of his time and effort to his Kariton Klasrum project while his neighbors mock him.To make matters worse, his parents and brother did not see the point in his earnestness to get out-of-school youths interested in going back to school. For a family s...
