NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA HOLDS STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS, MEET WITH SENATE PRESIDENT

1.Yesterday I presided over the National Mgt Meeting of the National Youth Council where landmark decisions was agreed to by the Council.The major decisions are the Opening up of the Council via Affiliation of all Youth Groups in Nigeria and issuance of Youth verification codes to stop the activities of fake/faceless youth organisation,the expulsion of 30 individuals whose activities has brought disrepute to the council,the suspension of the Minister of Youths and spor...ts from the Council board and commencement of contempt proceedings against him,Ative,Azugbena and 3 others,Vote of no confidence on the Minister,Approval of 10,000 Naira as Affiliation fee etc.

2.Same yesterday we addressed the Nation and the theme of our State of the Nation Address :A Nation at Crossroad.It will be aired on Tv stations starting tonight and for one hour on AIT tomo Morning.

3.Same Yesterday I lead Nigeria Youth Leaders, NYCN NEC Members, State Chairmen, Heads of Organisations and NYCN Elders to a historic Official Visit to the Senate where the President of the Senate,Dr.Bukola Saraki accompanied by over 15 Senators received our great entourage.

We discussed with the Senate leadership on areas of partnership with the Council and officially submitted our proposals for the enactment of an Act of parliamentary recognition for the Youth Council,Bill for ceding of 40 percent of public office appointment to Youths between the ages of 18 to 45,Amendment to mak 18 years the age to vote and be voted for etc.





The Senate President while congratulating the NYCN President for the Court Affirmation of his Victory offered to lead the sponsorship of the NYCN proposed bills to help advance the interest of Nigerian Youths.
The Senate President was accompanied by over 15 senators top among who are :Sen.Ali Ndume Senate Leader, Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, Sen. Sabi Abdulahi, Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream, Sen. Albert Akpan Bassey,Chairman, Senate Committee on FCT, Senator Dino Melaye, Sen.Misau,Sen Gemede Barnabas, Sen.Mrs Olujimi,Sen Philip Adudua etc

AKWA IBOM CHILD RIGHTS LAW

The Akwa Ibom State Child Rights Law The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Godswill Akpabio, on 5th December, 2008 signed the child rights act into law to protect the growth of perceptual, emotional, intellectual, and behavioural capabilities and functioning during childhood of Akwa Ibom children under 16 years.
