From Alexander the Great to Nelson Mandela; from Williams Shakespeare to Boutros Boutros - Ghali; from Barracks Obama to Godswill Akpabio history has been one long lesson in the making and moulding of great leaders. One thing is common among great leaders, they have fought and won many trophies leaving behind legacies.
Senator Godswill Akpabio CON is a great leader, lawyer, philanthropist, orator, teacher and the most successful politician in the history of Akwa Ibom State. He was born on the 9th of December, 1962 to Lucy and Obot Akpabio in Ukana Ikot Ntuen, Essien Udim Local Government of Akwa Ibom State Nigeria. As a young man who was destined for greatness, he became the general senior prefect at Federal Government College, Port Harcourt during his secondary school days. He was subsequently elected Speaker of the Students' Union Government Parliament in University of Calabar, Cross River state. His journey to greatness never ended there as he was called to serve in the State Executive Council as a commission in Akwa Ibom during the tenure of H.E. Obong Victor Attah.
In 2007, grace had an encounter with him and he was elected the Governor of Akwa Ibom State after roundly defeating over 40 other aspirants in the process. Within the 8 years that he served as governor of the state, he instituted many life touching projects and programmes that made him to emerge as the best governor since the creation of the state and indeed the best governor in Nigeria within the comparative period.
He was able to promulgate and sustain superior performance throughout his administration such that highly placed individuals like the governor of Edo State H.E. Adams Oshomole and former president of Nigeria H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo spoke glowingly about his sterling performance openly. For those of us who are not from Akwa Ibom State, do you know that Akwa Ibom State is in the Guinness World Record made possible by the Great Teacher and the Uncommon Transformer. He was nick name Uncommon Transformer because he massively empowered his people and changed the state through projects up and down the state. It’s on record that during his tenure as governor, he sponsored many sick people overseas for free medical treatment and he did same to pregnant women, nursing mothers, children and the elderly and this is what his haters will not tell you.
As a governor, Senator Godswill Akpabi CON made education in the state free and compulsory up to the secondary school level. His blackmailers will not tell you that every children of school age benefitted from this free education policy including their own relatives. Oh "Ubon Owo" after eating from him for 8 years, you are now calling him names. I make bold to say that Senator Godswill Akpabio CON was a blessing to Akwa Ibom State, if you doubt me ask our mothers who are not politicians, ask the clergymen how he built churches and gather the people of the state for thanksgiving service every 2nd of January to pray for the success of the state.
Senator Godswill Akpabi CON made God the cornerstone of his administration and the secret of his success. For those of you calling him names and writing unnecessary petitions against his person, purge yourself of hate. Do not be like the brothers of Joseph who sold him out. We know that Senator Godswill Akpabio CON will not join issues with his haters but rather he is moving from grace to greater grace and will continue to pray for everyone including his enemies. It is a fact that the same Akwa Ibom people who are today rubbishing the achievements of Senator Godswill Akpabio CON today were the same people busy doing undignifiable jobs in Lagos and other major cities of the country and who ended this despicable phenomenon? It’s the same Senator Godswill Akpabio CON! Senator Godswill Akpabio CON!! Senator Godswill Akpabio CON!!!
We in all confessed that " Akwa Ibom Ado Ok" Does such a man who made Akwa Ibom to be ok not deserve some level of respect and commendation from his people? don't behave like Abel who kill his brother out of jealousy. Embrace love so that it will be well with you and your generations even those yet unborn.
For some of you who are claiming saints, "you no holy pass my brother" Tuface Idibia 2004. Wake up before it’s too late and repent from your evil ways. Don't envy a man whom God has blessed, wait for your turn, I understand that you were once a toilet prefect and you were very accountable but you will never be a Governor and you won't understand what it means to be the people's Governor. so relax.
