AKHA CONSTITUTES A COMMITTEE ON ILLEGAL TASK FORCE IN THE STATE

By Admin The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly today has constituted an Adhoc Committee to investigate illegal task force operation in the state. The House made this decision following a motion on the operation of illegal task force in the State moved by member representing Ukanafun State Constituency, Hon. Otobong Akpan. Hon. Otobong has drawn the attention of the leadership of the State House of Assembly to what he termed as "The Unlawful and Illegal Activities of the taskforce and transport operators in the state, which allegedly caused the death of one Mrs Anwanabasi Eshiet, a mother of two at Nung Udoe junction, recently. This call was contained in a motion of Urgent Public Importance he raised on the floor of the House during today's plenary. The lawmaker who, condemned the ugly act in totality, appealed to the House, the state government and other relevant authorities to weigh into the matter with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book.
